School Staff
The teachers are the heartbeat of the school, and come from a variety of backgrounds. Some had teacher training in their college course-work and hold teaching certifications. Others gained expertise in their subject area through life and job experiences. They work together as a staff to educate and build relationships with each of their students. There could not be a more committed group of teachers in the state of Maine.
"They're more like friends than teachers. They really respect
your view
and you as a person." — day student
Although Chop Point has a Christian foundation, it warmly welcomes students regardless of their religious beliefs or lack thereof. The staff desires that all students feel free to express their viewpoints and discuss them in the classroom setting. Every teacher is a Christian and has made the personal choice to please Christ with his or her own life. The effective way to draw students to faith is not the spectacular miracles or signs, but rather seeing some of Christ in the staff.
